In her own words
Hi, i am a type designer and ex product designer, currently living back in my hometown Prague, Czech Republic. I am running a type foundry, together with my associate, José Scaglione, living in Argentina. We collaborate on most of our type projects, with a focus on editorial design. Just recently we also co-founded another type venture, called Rosetta, a foundry specialized in non-latin typography.
Skype and email are indispensable for us.
Words of advice
Be enthusiastic about your work, honest and be prepared to trust people. They will appreciate it. Stay true to your promises! Remain modest, but make yourself heard. Don’t be afraid of showing your work. I found that women are generally much better networker.
Exercise!! Get your bum away from the chair; it will make your creativity flow and you’ll be happy later on.
Bree is an upright italic and strongly influenced by handwriting, but with text use in mind. Co-designer: José Scaglione.
Maiola, my own interpretation of a classic typeface, combines three scripts and is inspired by early Czech type design.
Karmina was our first collaborative project, intended for editorial design. A sans version was added later to expand its possibilities.
