Kim Knoll
My best piece of advice is to always follow your heart.
In her own words
As owner and creative director of Knoed, a small creative studio in Chicago, I work with entrepreneurs, small business and agencies building big brands and creating new ones alike. As a hobby, I make vintage-inspired jewelry using materials from every decade starting with the 1950s. When I’m not behind a desk, walking my dog or petting my husband, you can most likely find me at an art festival or trying out a new soup recipe.
Words of advice
I think both men and women in the field of design want to have the best title at the best job in the best location… and they want all of it right out of school. At least I know I was this way. But, I quickly learned that there are about 40 years in the average person’s career and you can’t get everything you want in the first 5… or even 10. And what if you did? Life would just get boring. What matters is that you are doing what makes you happy. It doesn’t matter who you work for or what kind of projects you work on… as long as you are happy. If you aren’t, then it’s time for a change. My best piece of advice is to always follow your heart.
