In your own words
Elizabeth Bick is a Brooklyn based photographer. She received her BFA in Photography from Loyola University New Orleans, and is currently pursuing a MFA in Photography from The New School in New York. Her work deals with the conditioned mind, the conflict of conscience verses awareness, and a pursuit to understand the human psyche, as well as the animal non-intellectual human self. She currently exhibits and is commissioned to photograph internationally.
Words of advice
Always follow your instincts, a muscle you must learn to strengthen every day. Do not be afraid to invest in yourself. Make goals and follow through with them. Be your own boss. Look at as much work as you can, meet as many people who do what you do. This will keep you motivated as being a creative can sometimes feel isolating, but when surrounding yourself with a community of people you build and inertia in your practice. And, lastly, always remember, f**k what they think.
