I’ve never met an artist who didn’t deal with self-doubt at some level.

In her own words

I’m a Minneapolis designer who works exclusively with repurposed or recycled materials. I love transforming vintage textiles and found items into original handbags, toys, and cozies. I work by hand, one piece at a time, and while most of my craft can be categorized as sewing, embroidery, or screen print, I love experimenting with new techniques. Besides fabric, I also work with a recycled plastic material I make from used plastic packaging, awesome for making super unique and durable backpacks, messenger bags, and more.

Words of advice

Being in any kind of creative field is an act of faith, something I guess you could say about a lot of things. For me, allowing myself to trust the process, believe in my ideas, and then respect the resulting work is the constant struggle. I hope I’ve gotten better at this, but I also know I’ve never met an artist who didn’t deal with self-doubt at some level. I don’t know if that ever goes away, but I do know that when I honor the process anyway, good things follow.

Orange Knotted Shoulder Bag: mid-size shoulder bag made from repurposed fabric and hardware.

Radiant MN Cozy Set: original design from my MN Love series, quilted and embroidered.

Red Squirrel: toy squirrel made from recycled sweaters and flannels.
